Welcome Fr. Bertrand Montpetit!

Fr. Bertrand Montpetit is a priest of Montreal who grew up and was educated in French, yet is- like St Luke Parish – bilingual. We are glad to welcome him “back home” in his home Parish. We hope to have him with us on the weekends, at least until the end of August. Please welcome him.

During my childhood, I played hockey with a team of the town of Dollard-des-Ormeaux. I was also member of the “Boys Scouts of Canada”. I was altar boy at St-Luke Parish.

My parents lived in St-Luke Parish until 2006. My father was a permanent deacon and served at St-Luke. My mother was a catechist.

I was ordained to the priesthood on May 31st, 1989 at St-Zotique Parish in Montreal.

Since then, here are my pastoral assignments:
• St-Zotique Parish (1989)
• St-Joachim Parish (1990-1994)
• Studies in pastoral at Université de Montréal (1994-1996)
• Military Chaplain in Canadian Forces Reserve (1994-1997)
• St-Luke Parish (1997)
• Service of Youth Pastoral assistant, diocese of Montreal (1998)
• Cathedral Parish, Montreal (1998-2001)
• Teacher at Montreal Grand Seminary (2001-2004)
• Pastor of St-Martin de Pores Parish and responsible of the Grand Seminary (2004-2008) in the town of Pucallpa, Peru
• Teacher at Montreal Grand Seminary (2008-2012)
• Assistant – Director of the Office of Pastoral Personnel from 2012 until now. This Department can be compared to the Service of Human Resources found in companies.

And, I am now named dominical curate at St-Luke. I will continue my journey on a personal and spiritual level. With you, I want to pursue my way with the Lord. Let us pray and support one another.
